2016 was a funny old year and like many, I am glad that these shambolic 12 months has come to an end.
My little blog has been going along half heartedly for about two years now and last year I only managed nine posts. Which is a pretty pathetic number. During the summer I went a grand total of 15 weeks without buying lingerie and for a lingerie obsessive like myself, that’s quite a long time. I hit the “meh” point in regards to lingerie, feeling uninspired with a lot of recent collections, unimpressed with the online lingerie community at large and in need of a break to reassess and actually enjoy what I already own in my current collection. As a result my blog suffered due to my lack of inspiration. Even though I love writing, it had become like a chore. Taking time to reflect and reassess my current situation alongside considering what I actually want to achieve with my blog has sparked a desire to push forward and push my blog further than I have done so far.
I realised I needed help with the visual direction that I wanted to achieve for the blog, so working with my partner photographically has helped bring back my creative motivation and sparked my desire to be productive. For the first time in a long while, I’m excited to create and I’m excited by my blog. It’s not just something I’m trying my hand at now but something I really want to put my all into.
I’ve already planned several posts from January to March; not just reviews but also other lingerie based posts, in addition to outerwear and promoting Scottish (local) brands. Last year was a year that passed me by but I’m determened not to let 2017 do the same. Thank you to all who have followed and supported Morning Madonna so far, I appreciate everything.
And please, do let me know if there is anything you would like to see featured on the blog, ideas are always welcome.
